CEO
Runs both BBM and AssurITy. Four decades of Tampa Bay business technology, from typewriters to zero-trust networks.
Forty-five years of fixing small-business tech, from typewriter repair to zero-trust networks. Same family. Same front door.
In 1981, Gene Smith opened a two-car garage in Tampa and began repairing typewriters. Not long after, his future son-in-law, Greg Morris, joined him. Together, they built Brandon Business Machines one customer at a time.
As office technology changed, so did BBM. Typewriters gave way to copiers, computers, networks, and eventually the connected workplaces businesses rely on today. What never changed was the way the company treated its customers: answer the phone, show up when needed, and do the work right.
Forty-five years later, BBM is still family-owned and serving businesses throughout the Tampa Bay area. Its copier, print, and document-management services remain an important part of the business, but technology support had grown into something much larger.
Cybersecurity threats, cloud services, compliance requirements, data protection, and around-the-clock monitoring required a team with a dedicated focus. That need led BBM to create AssurITy Solutions, a company built specifically around managed IT and cybersecurity.
AssurITy has a new name and a modern focus, but the people behind it are the same. We are still one local team, working from one office and answering one phone number. When you call, you reach people who know your business and are responsible for getting the work done.
From our family to yours, we are here to keep your technology working, your business protected, and your team supported.
